“Your Birthday Is A Special Time To Celebrate The Gift Of 'You' To The World.”

Hello all!

As some of you will know, it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and I was absolutely spoilt rotten, so I wanted to show you a few of the lovely things I got.

I woke up to breakfast in bed, which was gorgeous and so thoughtful... and then went downstairs to find an actual pyramid of presents! Along with a bottle bag for good measure (and anything in a bottle is certainly good measure!)

I had a chilled out day where we went for a picnic and saw friends. Then in the evening we went out for a slap-up (I do hate that phrase!) meal, again with my nearest and dearest. Two of my best friends got me a box full of gorgeous stuff (pics will be at the bottom) and my auntie and uncle got me some lovely jewellery.

We had a great meal, I ended up taking half of it home with me... even though me and Sarah couldn't resist getting dessert, which was a snickerbockerglory. Kinda like a peanut butter sundae! Nommmm.

When I got home, a cute giant cupcake was waiting for me off my mum and dad, and a mysterious envelope which, when I opened it, was a voucher for a weekend away in a Manor House including Spa, Facial and Massage! It was so sweet of them, especially after how much I'd already got!

The Jacquard throw is what I bought with some of my birthday money because I love being cosy and snuggly - it's absolutely huge!
I also do a lot of writing so the Paperchase notebook was perfect, it's much bigger than most other I have.
The photo in the middle of the three is what my absolutely beautiful girls from uni got me. We went out for a meal just after my birthday and they surprised me with a huge bag of stuff! There's a Floozie make up bag set, a scented candle, some lip glosses, a spa set and some earrings from Topshop that I'd been gazing longingly at for weeks. It was so thoughtful of them and I nearly cried into my TGI Fridays!

I am a self-proclaimed geek and I do love things to do with the Universe. It's going to sound SO sad but I just love looking at the pictures of how big the galaxy is, it sometimes really puts things in perspective knowing there's so much more out there than my problems!

This is our hotel we stayed in...

Apparently, King Henry VIII used to stay there! So I was hoping for some creepy, haunting activity... but unfortunately I was left disappointed! Although there was this big old chest that, when we opened it, had a picture of a demon in... So chances are, we've unleashed some curse on the place for the next visitors!

Finally, these are the presents from my besties! There were some gorgeous Teal earrings (my favourite colour), a lovely scarf, other jewellery including some adorable teapot earrings, a cupcake keyring and a teacup with a Soy candle in it!
It's like all the things I love in one box!

So there's my birthday in a post! I hope I haven't bored you!
Thanks so much to everyone who sent birthday messages, and also thanks and big love to everyone who's gifts have appeared in this post!

Will post about my Vintage Venture soon!

Lots of Love, Taz x

Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Wow it's been forever since my last post. I'm going to assume a lot has happened since it's been so long so I'll try and remember as much as poss! Well... I got my ears pierced, after 21 years of not really being bothered about it. I expected it to really hurt but I didn't feel a thing! Not during or after. I've still got about 3 weeks before I can change them but I'm buying earrings now like no ones business!
I also cut and dyed my hair. I got about 5 inches taken off (yikes!) and dyed it "Passion Red"!

I've been spending an astronomical amount of money... Naughty naughty. I think it's the whole 'after christmas' period where everything's on offer and you're looking for fresh things for your fresh start. Although I'm now not allowed to spend any more money this month! I've been back to my usual haunts (tea house, roots, dalton park etc) numerous times recently and I think they're probably a big factor in my spending! We also got the snow at the beginning of feb.

Which, as anyone living in this country knows, means the whole of Great Britain shuts down at the sign of the first snowflake. It wasn't so bad this year though and although very pretty it didn't impact too much.

On the 14th me and my Uni friends went out for Emma's birthday and brought her presents & valentines things! I took along some party bags like we were 9 again... complete with balloons!

I've started using Graze and LoveFilm. Graze is brilliant because they send me a box each week which contains four pots of snacks, they're specially selected to have the best nutritious value and they really do fill you up.

LoveFilm is excellent as well, a few friends had tried it before but, back in my darker days of DVD buying obsession, it had never appealed to me. However, now I'm a recovering addict (lol) it's really good. A few times there have been films I was going to go out and buy but instead got them from LoveFilm... And I'm so glad I didn't waste my money! One DVD was £10 which actually amounts to a whole month of my film subscription and therefore unlimited movies through the post and online!
Other than that things have been trundling along as usual... I'll do a purchases post soon to show you some of the lovely stuff I've got (including about 7 more Yankee Candles.. Oops)

In the mean time, take care of yourselves. Lots of love, Taz x

Nothing would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a pleasure as well as a necessity ~ Voltaire

Hi all.
First off, I'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has viewed my blog so far. Since last night when I published my first post I've had over 200 page views and a lot of you have been emailing me with tips and tricks for my blogging future!
Anyway I'm going to stop cooing over you all now and get on with my post, but keep getting in touch because it's great to get advice!
Today has been a lovely day! I expected I was going to be in Uni, but my friends told me it was a tutorial week so I got to add another day to my Christmas holiday! Sadly tomorrow is back to reality, boo hiss, but I've had an amazing Christmas and new year and will bore you all with posts about it in the near future!
This afternoon my BFF came round to bake. It's her boyfriends birthday tomorrow (happy 21st Jacob!) and she needed to make "secret brownies"! We ended up making Brownies and Blondies which took a lot longer than expected to make but provided much hilarity!

They're off to a hotel for the night tomorrow so I hope they have a fantastic time... And enjoy the treats we made!
I'm back at Uni tomorrow but hopefully will blog tomorrow night about a few of my Christmas gifts because I was utterly spoilt this year despite not asking for anything.
Keep the ideas and constructive criticism coming and I'll post tomorrow I hope!
Goodnight, lots of love Taz x
