All White Everything

Shoes - New Look £29.99 / Blazer - Topshop £65 / Satchel - PS1 £205 / Watch - Olivia Burton London £72 / Elephant teapot - BIA £13.25 / Bedroom furniture - various, not priced

Afternoon all!
The idea is to make these posts shorter and more frequent now, rather than the length of a dissertation and with an average of 1.7 years between them.

Anyway, at the moment and because of our new situation I'm rearranging / decorating my room and I've noticed a change. The last time I had the chance to take total control over decorating a room was when I moved into a big city terrace with ceilings so high I could've leapt into passing planes (this may be an exaggeration) and a floorspace to die for (this may also be an exaggeration), anyway my point is that it was so big a bedroom that I was able to channel my deepest adoration for Moroccan design and adorn it in deep reds and purples, have (faux) fur rugs and hang sweeping taffeta from that mile high ceiling.

BUT, my accommodation now is a little more humble, and for this reason I've been finding myself drawn to white furniture and accessories. It just makes the whole room seem bigger and I love how fresh it feels.

In my searching I found these items which I absolutely love! The blazer is from Topshop and that and the bag would just look so good in the sunshine we've finally been getting. I'm always tentative when it comes to white shoes... call me old fashioned but someone mentions white stilettos and I shriek with images in my head of some 70s lady of thine boardwalk, but these platform lace heels from New Look have converted me! Imagine the look of them with a summer tan - divine.

I am in love with the Olivia Burton watch, she does so many pretty designs but this monotone hummingbird has to be my favourite. Finally, who cannot adore that teapot? Not only is the elephant adorable but the design of the thing is so beautiful!

Do you have any white favourites? Tell me about them below!

What If The Hokey Cokey Really Is What It's All About?

Hello All!

I've decided to do a HAUL post on things I bought at the MetroCentre in Gateshead.
I don't go there that often, not since I left Sunderland, but I went a few weeks ago with the girls and got some great stuff.

So I decided to go again this week and, since one of my best friends lives about 15mins away, we drove over on Monday.

I'd heard about this American Candy place opening up and the week of it opening there were apparently queues out the door, so I was excited the check it out.

Well, evidently the reason the queues were out the door were probably because its smaller than my bedroom! It's a tiny place, for anyone who knows the MetroCentre it's in that little village set-up between the green & blue malls, so only teeny.

They had a few nice things, but my friend went to America for a couple of years and would send loads of stuff back so there was nothing that really stood out to me. I did get a couple of cans of Mountain Dew though because I've never had the proper American stuff, just that energy one you can get over here.

I also got some, more, candles. If you follow my blog / twitter you'll probably know I have a bit of an addiction to candles, and a quite substantially larger addiction to Yankee Candles...

BUT, in my defence, the Nature's Paintbrush is one that I've been after for ages!

Also, the Christmas Tree tealights were super reduced from Christmas so that's okay, right?!
The Pink Rose one just looked pretty, and smelled nice.
And was only £1.50 from Primark. Bargain.

I have to admit to totally going off Primark in the last few years, and if I'm being honest, I got a bit snooty about it, thinking it was just cheap tat. BUT, I think they've really raised their game recently and although you can't expect to compare the quality against the more expensive shops, they do have some nice stuff.

The only clothing I bought from there was this Roxy Music top. It's really short so probably good over denim or high-waisted shorts maybe?

I also got some stuff from the Home department, I really like some of the things they have on offer...

I loved this cushion, I'm redecorating my room with a neutral walls and colourful accessories set up so for £7, I thought this would fit in really well.

I also got these pillowcases, because they're so pretty, but mainly because they were only £2 for a pack of 2!

I got a huge bag for half price at only £5 which has a bright orange lining, and I was after some quite plain summer flats so I went for these nude snakeskin pumps for £5.

From Topshop I just got a couple of bits of jewellery...

The cross rings were £8.50, but the other ring was in the half-price sale so was only £2!

We went into That's Entertainment on the way home and I got some DVDs and some posters...

I'm not even embarrassed about the Avengers poster! It's only a mini one but I still unashamedly LOVE it :)
The DVDs, if you can't see them, are Three Kings, Tropic Thunder, The Office Series 1 & 2, Dogma and Pearl Harbour.

I also got two other posters which I havent put up yet, but they're big ones in the style of the "Keep Calm And Carry On" signs, but one's movie quotes and one's song titles. (I'll take snaps of them when they're up!)

I got a vest top from New Look for £8.99. I love the design.

Finally, I got a wooden sign for my room...

I like inspirational stuff like that.

So that's what I bought! (& spent far too much money on!)

If there's anything you like that I've forgotten to say where it was from or how much then feel free to ask :)

I'm gonna sign off with something that me & my friend both absolutely adored but at £14 couldn't justify buying...

It tickled us anyway!

Anyway take care, Lots of Love, Taz x

Whoever Said Money Can't Buy Happiness Simply Didn't Know Where To Go Shopping.

Hi All!

I've had loads of views on my last post about This Means War so thank you all for that!

Decided to post a purchases... post (too many p's!) of some of the lovely things I've been naughtily spending all my money on! First thing is this lunchbox...

I am fully aware that I am about 15 years too old for a lunchbox but it was just TOO cute to leave in the shop! Naturally I'm not carrying my lunch round in it (that would be weird, right?) so it's currently holding a large majority of my nail varnishes!

However! I did use it for its 'sort of' intended use the other weekend in Durham because I filled it with treats for in the hotel room, like a box of malteasers and some lindor, nommy nom ;)

The next thing I wanna show you is my gorgeous new shoes!
Okay, so I've had them since Christmas, but now you get to see them!

I actually adore them! And they're not horrendously uncomfortable which isn't always a necessity but is a huge bonus! They were a really reasonable price (I won't tell you how reasonable...) and were the only pair left in the whole shop. I especially love the leopard print inside, even though no-one sees it but me when I take them off! The pictures don't show it that well but they have about a 4" heel and maybe 1.5" platform so they give me a lot of height but don't kill my feet!

If anyone wants to hunt a pair down, they're Love Label :)

I've also been splurging on smaller things like my pink skull shamballa bracelet, some Calvin Klein lipstick (in Cosmopolitan - a gorgeous corally pink) and 'another' candle from my favourite candle shop in Hutton-le-Hole - Moorwax Candles.

He makes them all in the workshop and you can go in and make requests. I once wanted a specific colour candle but in a shape that he didn't make them in, but as soon as he found out what I was after, he told me to go back a week later and lo and behold he'd made some just for me! This French Cedar one smells beautiful! There are loads of varieties of the tinned candles and they all smell divine, I got my mum a few as presents and always grab a cheeky one for myself!

Okay, finally there's some Limoncello Baba, which we got from Lewis & Cooper in Northallerton. They're so strong they'll put hairs on your chest!
I also decided to throw caution to the wind and abandon my femininity at the weekend to watch the Rugby with my dad. I thought I'd better get into the spirit of things and glug some cider... but found this spiced orange ginger beer in the back of the fridge instead and it was LUSH! Needless to say, the swearing and blokiness soon faded back to swooning girlish giggling when all the extremely hot men in extremely tight shorts ran out onto the pitch (I'm sure rugby players didn't used to look like that...) but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Obviously.
Lastly, since I'm obsessed with Starbucks, I treated myself to a half price gift set from the leftover Christmas stock. I didn't realise until I got it home and filled it with House Blend that it was actually the size of my head!
But it's perfect for snuggling on the sofa with a fur throw and a massive brew!

Well, that's it, a few of the things I've bought.
I hope I haven't bored you to death! And if I have, well it's your own fault, you could've left at any point ;)

Until next time my loves, take care!

Lots of Love, Taz x
